Vocab words #2

1) Address Book - a book used for storing contacts.
2) Archiving - a place where public records or other historical documents are kept.
3) Attachment - something attached,like a document added to a letter.


4) Distribution List - where lists of email addresses are used to email everyone on the list at once.



5) Electronic Mail (e-mail) - the transmission and distribution of messages,information,documents,etc,from one computer to another.

6) e-mail Address - where electronic mail is received. It is a combination of a user name and a host name.

7) Instant Messaging (IM)a system for exchanging typed electronic messages instantly via the internet or a cellular network, using a shared software application on a personal computer or mobile device.

8) Mailing List - a list of names and addresses  where advertising material is mailed.

9) Packets - a small group or package of anything.

10) Signature - a person's nameor a mark representing it, signed personally in letter or other document.

28) Urban Legend -a story that appears mysteriously and spreads spontaneously in various forms and is usually false.

a software program capable of reproducing itself and capable of causing great harm to files or other programs on the same computer.


30) Worm -a self-replicating Malware computer program. It uses a computer network to send copies of itself to other computers on the network.
